Microsoft Family Safety App Launched

Microsoft came up with an all-new family safety app that has been made available on Android and iOS platforms. The company was known to be testing the application for quite a few months now, and now that it is launched, you’d be surprised to know that it is designed for family members to manage screen time and app usage. You can use this application to set up a time limit for screen time which can be extended to a period of 15 minutes, 30 minutes 1 hour 2 hours and 3 hours if necessary. The announcement for this application was announced back in March and it was made available for limited preview in the month of May.

With this app, you’ll receive reports on app usage and overall screen time your kids usually spent on their smartphones. The best part is, it lets you set app time limits just to stay a step ahead of their kids when they ask for extensions. What sets this application apart is its capability to sync across Windows, Xbox, and Android, which means time limits for games and applications will be sent to multiple devices. This app will definitely prevent kids from swapping devices to get some extra hours in order to play games like Fortnite, Minecraft, PUBG, and GTA V. You can also block specific applications with Microsoft Family Safety. The app has been made available on both Google Play Store and iOS App Store.

Microsoft has also added new web and search filters just to put a limit on browsing and redirect children to kid-friendly websites. These filters can work exceptionally well across the Microsoft Edge browser on Windows, Xbox, and Android. But, Microsoft is saying that it’s working on bringing these filters to iPhones too.
